ALFA’s first musical event was a piano recital with Deborah Selbach, a young music student from Münster, Germany. It took place in September 2007 and marked the inauguration of the magnificent Yamaha Grand piano the Camera de Lagoa has purchased for the Auditório Municipal de Lagoa.

In March 2008, Deborah doubled up, i.e. she gave together with her twin sister Amrei who likewise studies music, a fourhand recital which was repeated two days later in the Museu de S. Bras de Alportel.

In April 2008, Berlin singer Gisela Reuter gave a cavalcade of German chansons from “Ich hab noch einen Koffer in Berlin” to “Falling in love again”. She was accompanied on the piano by Lutz Kettnaker and every chanson was introduced in German, English and Portuguese by Fernando Sequeira.

In autumn, an Opera event is planned with Covent Garden, London mezzo soprano Siobhan Gibson and bariton Rob Gildon, providing their busy schedule makes it possible.
