__________ Interactive RED SHOE Exhibition Red shoes? An exhibition of red shoes? Why on earth would anybody be interested in red shoes? Come and see for yourself. Discover the magic impact of red shoes! ALFA – the association of literature friends in the Algarve was founded in September 2005 in the beautiful surrounding of the Capela das Artes in Alcantarilha. Every second Monday of the month, 50-100 book worms flock in the ancient oil mill to listen to Barbara Fellgiebel and her guests, authors from Portugal and Germany as well as residents who present a book they found so interesting, they want to share it. In October the first literature competition was launched. The theme was RED SHOES and what started to be a short story and poem contest in German, developed into a multi media, multi language event, much bigger than expected: 180 short stories, 50 poems, in German, English, Portuguese and Spanish, 35 paintings, photos, collages, 3-D objects and even 1 fado made their entry to the competition. While a competent 8-person-jury decides on the best short story, best crime, and best poem, the visitors of an exhibition will choose the best non-verbal entry. The exhibition will be held in the gallery of Capela das Artes from the 4th of August till the 3rd of September 2006, with opening hours Tuesday-Sunday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. The inauguration will take place on Friday the 4th of August at 8 p.m. Every visitor is requested to vote for his/her favourite entry. The prize giving ceremony will take place on Monday, the 11th of September, ALFA’s first anniversary.
